We're currently investigating an issue with the submissions servers. Clients using the scrobble 1 protocol (requiring username and password to scrobble; e.g. Spotify) may have difficulties scrobbling. If your client supports caching of unsucessful scrobbles, they we be resubmitted to Last.fm once normal service is restored. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
Clients using the scrobble 2 protocol (requires website authentication, e.g. Last.fm desktop scrobbler 2.3.6) should be unaffected.

Good morning. Our engineers continue to work to address the technical difficulties that are still affecting a small number of our users connecting to the site and/or scrobbling. We understand how frustrating its been for those not able to use the service and so we'll continue to work until Last.fm is working for everyone.
